    Litter Sense FAQs

How is Litter Sense different from other cat litters?

Litter Sense is a premium health-monitoring cat litter made from silica crystals that change colour when they detect abnormal urine pH, giving you an early visual warning that your cat may be unwell. It also controls odour for up to 30 days, produces ultra-low dust, and is lightweight and easy to use.

How long does one bag of Litter Sense last?

Approximately 30 days for one cat, thanks to its ultra-absorbing silica crystals.

How do I use Litter Sense?

Pour the whole bag into a clean tray to a depth of at least two inches, scoop solids daily, and stir the litter to keep it fresh. Replace every 30 days.

How should I dispose of used Litter Sense?

Dispose of solids and used crystals in your household waste. Please do not flush.

How do I help my cat transition to Litter Sense?

Most cats switch with no issues. If your cat is sensitive to change, introduce it gradually by mixing with your current litter over a week or two.

How does health monitoring work with multiple cats?

The colour change will still appear, but to identify which cat needs attention, separate trays are recommended. If you notice a colour change and aren't sure which cat is responsible, consider temporarily isolating each cat with their own tray using a spare bag.

Will Litter Sense detect a UTI?

Litter Sense highlights changes in urinary pH, which can be associated with UTIs, struvite crystals, kidney disease, and other conditions. It is not a veterinary diagnostic tool, so always consult your vet if colours remain abnormal.

How many bags do I need?

One bag per cat per month.

What are the ingredients in Litter Sense?

Our litter is made from high-quality, highly absorbent silica gel crystals — non-toxic, odour-neutralising, and safe for pets.

How does Litter Sense monitor my cat's health?

The crystals react to your cat's urine and change colour if the pH falls outside the normal range, or if blood is detected, giving you an early visual cue that something may be wrong.

    What do the colours mean?

    Here is a general guide:

Yellow/olive green = Normal, healthy urine

Orange = Acidic urine, which may indicate metabolic acidosis or inflammation

Blue = Alkaline urine, which may suggest a UTI or struvite crystals

Red = Possible presence of blood, which may indicate bladder stones, FLUTD, or kidney disease

Full guidance is also printed on the packaging. If you're ever unsure, contact your vet.
